How do microwave ovens work?

“Mircowaves” are essentially a form of irradiated energy waves, which are very short and travel at the speed of light. In microwave ovens, this type of electromagnetic radiation is produced inside the appliance by an electron tube called a magnetron. Within this tube, electrons are excited by a magnetic and electric fields, which produce micro-wavelengths of radiation.

 

What do microwaves do to our food?

In general, wavelengths change polarity, oscillating from positive to negative, millions of times within a second. In microwave ovens, wave lengths agitate the water molecules in food, causing them to rotate millions of times within a second based on their polarity. As the water molecule moves faster and faster, friction (heat) and steam are created, which then heats up the food from the inside.  This agitation of the water causes severe damage to surrounding molecules, usually tearing them apart and/or deforming their structure. As a result, beneficial vitamins, minerals, and proteins are destroyed.

 

A threat to our health

The danger of microwaved food is that the structures of the molecules have been altered. It is commonly known that Russia discovered the technology soon after taking over Nazi Germany, and then quickly banned their citizens from using it. Tests revealed that the machine altered the molecular makeup of nearly every food that was experimented on. The results were especially disturbing concerning the fact that many meals were altered from nutrient rich foods into carcinogens. Here are some of the results that were discovered from these tests: Microwaving meats caused the formation of cancer causing agents d-nitrosodienthanolamines, while microwaving vegetables for a very short time caused alkaloids to turn into carcinogens and root vegetables transformed into carcinogenic, free radicals. Concerning fruits, microwaves caused glucoside and galactoside to form carcinogens, and amino acids in milk and grains were also turned into carcinogenic substances. As a result, the Russians discovered that microwaving food caused a decrease in its nutritional value by 60 to 90%, wherein essential vitamins and minerals were diminished. Also, microwaving foods creates new compounds called radiolytic compounds, though their effects on the body are currently unknown.

Another source of cancer causing agents in microwaved foods comes from plastic and paper containers. Some of these may include packaging from manufacturers, such as popcorn bags, vegetable steam bags, heating sleeves for pocket sandwiches, plastic containers for heating and serving.  Carcinogenic toxins can also leech out from plastic storage containers used for leftovers. Microwaving fatty foods in these plastic containers releases dioxins, which are known carcinogens. Other toxic compounds that are released include polyethylene terpthalate (PET), benzene, toluene, xylene, and bisphenol A (BPA).  BPA is a known hormone disrupter, and has recently been linked to weight gain and obesity. BPA is FDA approved for food storage and commonly found in microwave-safe plastic dishes.

 

Microwaved Foods and Our Health

Ultimately, eating microwaved foods may increase the risk of developing cancer—which may help explain the dramatic increase in intestinal, stomach, and colon cancers over the past few decades. A weakened immune system and a shutdown in hormone production may also eventually result from consistently ingesting microwaved foods. Other evidence indicates that the increase in toxic materials and decrease in nutritional value of microwaved foods might also lead to memory loss and unexplained emotional problems.

 

What to do?

So now that you have all this overwhelming and frightening information on how bad microwaving food is, what do you do about it? First off, stop microwaving food! It may be difficult at first, and preparing meals may take a little longer, but it will be worth it in the long run. Using the oven, stovetop, or even a toaster oven will not strip away the nutritional value of your food and replace it with cancer causing compounds. So it’s worth the time and effort!

Furthermore, take a daily dose of a zeolite health supplement. Everyone has, at one point, eaten microwaved foods, and thus has consumed foods that are filled with carcinogenic compounds. Since zeolite helps to carry toxins out of the body and keep the body in an alkaline (balanced pH) state, a daily dose will help undo any damaging substances that were previously ingested and prevent the formation of any cancer.

Zeolite also helps boost the immune system. Toxins, such as carcinogens, sit in cells and disrupt normal cellular function. The immune system spends a lot of time and energy trying to fight off these toxins, and becomes greatly weakened over time. Once zeolite removes these toxins, the immune system can spend time fighting off what it really needs to.
